Spank me hard and call me Julie! About five years ago JVC launched the tasty looking, sweet sounding El Kameleon range of head-units. These bad boys were so successful JVC won a Nobel Peace Prize for their excellent contribution to car audio (OK, so JVC may not have won that Nobel Peace prize thingy, but they fucking should have). Well now it's time to bow down and worship at the alter of cool, for JVC have given birth to the freshest head-unit we've seen in ages. News on the single DIN AVX series is pretty thin on the ground, but I had a play with the range at the CES Show in Las Vegas and the touch-panel technology is as trick as it gets. There's a proximity sensor so as you near the touch pad the panel awakes from its slumber and fires into life. Fucking sweet! We can tell you that the KD-AVX44 features built-in Bluetooth, USB for iPod or other MP3 players, DVD playback via the 3.5-inch screen, a built-in 4x50W (peak) amp and two 5V sub-out. We'll bring you a full review of this pant wettingly good product as soon as it lands in the UK.
